Ryan,

I was referring to 25% of liquid assets (cash, stocks, other things capable of being converted to cash within a few days)

I hate to make 3 out of 4 comments but reading this a 3rd time I still have a question. You said a 25% reserve and I ask 25% of what?

Your posts about stocking gold and spices reminded me of something that I read recently. Back in the day ( and I mean like a 1000 years ago) spices were more valuable than gold since there was no refrigeration and most meats were somewhat rotten, it was quite a status symbol to have an assortment of rancid masking ingredients. Roman soldiers were regularly paid in salt. If history repeats itself then gold and spices are something that should be stock piled.

I looked at their site and I like that they estimate shipping a whole lot. Also their shipping costs are pretty reasonable so they are going to get a new customer in me.

I've been making some purchases of silver recently. I figure on getting a good stash of that and then moving toward gold. I will check out that site and probably make some purchases from there.Do they hammer you on this shipping?
